Border 2 is revealed to be in the works. The Sunny Deol starrer Border was released in 1997 and it became a monstrous hit. Many superstars, including Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff and others starred in that action film centring on India vs Pakistan war. Border is regarded as one of the best war movies of all time.
Pinkvilla has reported that Border 2 will release on 23 January 2026. The film is eyeing the week surrounding the Republic Day in 2026 to make a huge box office impact. Ayushmann Khurrana is also reported to play a major role in the film. He is expected to be the second lead.
Not much is known about the other cast members. However, Border 2 is surely going to be a multi-starrer like the first film in the franchise. The plot of Border is expected to be around a war of India with a nation like either Pakistan or China. But the script is yet to be finalised for the film.

Sunny Deol recently starred in the sequel of Gadar, which was released in 2023. The film was made on a budget of less than Rs 100 Crores and earned over Rs 500 Crores in India. It was a massive blockbuster that again established the stardom of Sunny Deol.
Aamir Khan Productions has also announced a movie named Lahore with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in the lead. The film is expected to be released in 2025.
