    Experts say that eating light and early dinner in the summer will keep you healthy. It is a fact that Indian summers are hot as India lies near the equator, so sometimes it is unbearable. Due to that, we experience an increase in body temperature, acidity problems, or hot flushes because of an upset stomach. But the main question is What dishes can I make for light dinner?

    Our body goes through a lot when exposed to sunlight, sometimes people face heartburns, skin irritation, redness of the skin, skin eruptions, and much more. There are many people who will get through this without even getting affected by the sunlight, but they cannot escape from all day’s sweat and heat at the end.




    So, what can be a better option to cool off yourself at the time of summer? A simple solution to this problem is to have light meals for dinner that will cool you off and won’t even make your stomach upset.

    That is why we have prepared a list of light dinner meals that you can prepare in no time because standing in the kitchen in front of the hot stove without a fan or an AC is also unbearable.

    Here are 7 easy recipes for light dinner meals

    1. Khichdi

    Khichdi is an all-season light dinner meal that is made by mixing rice and a variety of lentils like green, yellow, or red lentils. This dish is served to sick or normal people and it is considered as the best meal when your stomach is upset. It is a wholesome and very comforting meal.




    Khichdi consists of many health benefits like it is loaded with wholesome goodness (good source of carbohydrates, dietary fibers, vitamins, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus), easy to digest (always easy on stomach and intestines), part of Tridoshic routine (it balances Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha), free of gluten (rice and lentils are gluten-free).

    You can also serve khichdi with curd/yogurt and salad. As now you have learned about the benefits of eating khichdi, you can surely have an enhanced digestive system.

    1. Shrikhand and Puri

    Many people must have heard Shrikhand as it is majorly popular in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Shrikhand is a classical Indian yogurt sweet that has been ruling over the hearts of Gujarati and Maharashtrian people. It is dense like sweet buttermilk that we make at home and is flavored with cardamom and saffron which makes it tastier and healthier.

    Earlier it was served normally, without flavors. But now, it is served in many flavors because of its growing craze in society, ranging from chocolate to badam pista. You call even call this the best meal to deal with heat throughout the summer season.

    Now the trend has been changed, mostly it is served with puri as it gives a great taste when both get mixed in the mouth.

    1. Daliya

    If you are looking for an excellent source of protein, then you should start eating daliya, and eating daliya at night is highly beneficial as it is light and easy for your stomach. It has many health benefits like suppresses hunger pangs, activates weight regulating hormones, boosts metabolism, etc.

    Daliya is high on fiber, Vitamin B, and proteins, all of which play a crucial role in weight loss. The best thing about daliya is that you can select your own veggies to enhance the taste and goodness.




    1. Lemon Rice

    It is one of the best south Indian dishes which is light for your stomach and intestines. Generally, it is served with yogurt, chutney, or raita to enhance its taste. Lemon is added to make it a light flavor that will save you from the heat of spices and will save your tongue from setting on fire.

    The recipe to cook lemon rice is really simple as you will need curry leaves, coriander seeds, green chilies, vegetable oil, mustard seeds, peanuts, a small piece of ginger, lemon, and rice.

    All you need to do is cook oil, seeds, peanuts, ginger, and chili in a pan for some time and later add your rice with turmeric and mix it for some time. Like this, your lemon rice will be ready to eat and serve.




    1. Aamras and Roti

    It would be rare to find a house without mangoes in it. Mangoes is meant to be a divine fruit in India and people are crazy about it. And, anywhere you go in India, every household will have at least one member who is fond of aamras.

    The moment it passes down your throat, it feels like you are sipping a divine drink that is cool and refreshing. You can also pair aamras with roti at night as it will cool you down in no time and will also give you a revitalizing sensation.

     

    1. Cold Salads

    Salads are light for your stomach, in fact, nothing could be a better night meal than salad. You can prepare the salad by mixing vegetables and fruits of your choice like cucumber, tomatoes, chana, peanuts, chopped onions, beetroots, etc.

    You will not feel acidic at all if you consuming salads on regular basis and you can also add spices, lemon, black salt, honey, etc. if you do not like its natural taste.




    1. Curd Rice

    Curd rice is also another south Indian dish that is consumed at a large amount. It is super easy to make and the most comforting food to have in the scorching heat. The list of ingredients is very small and it requires vegetable oil, mustard seeds, chilies, curd, and rice.

    First, you need to cook mustard seeds and chilies in vegetable oil. Once, they are prepared, prepare and mix your curd and rice altogether, and then add that to your oil.  Stir the mixture for 5-7 minutes and let it cool down for some time. Now, you are done and enjoy your light meal.
