On Tuesday, Farhan Akhtar used his social media profiles to reveal a new streaming series named ‘Bambai Meri Jaan.’ The series falls under the crime thriller genre and will unfold over 10 episodes. The show boasts a skilled and adaptable cast including Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Amyra Dastur in important roles, presenting a fast-paced narrative.
The series ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ is the brainchild of Rensil D’Silva, recognized for directing ‘Kurbaan’ and contributing as a dialogue and screenplay writer for the iconic film ‘Rang De Basanti’. Shujaat Saudagar, known for ‘Rock On!! 2’, collaborated with Rensil in creating the show.
The narrative was crafted by S Hussain Zaidi, acclaimed for inspiring numerous Bollywood gangster dramas, notably Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Black Friday’ and the Alia Bhatt-starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, based on a chapter from ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. Zaidi, initially a crime journalist, specializes in crime series set in Mumbai, as exemplified by works like ‘The Punishers of Mumbai Police: The Class of 83’.
