Hanuman Ansh is still not heading to OTT anytime soon. More than 70 days after its release, the makers of the Neem Karoli Baba biopic have not signed any streaming deal, and no OTT platform or digital release date has been announced as of October 19, 2026. The film will complete 100 days in theatres on November 14.
Written, directed and produced by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh released on August 7, 2026, and has gone on to become one of the biggest surprise hits in Indian cinema, collecting about Rs 449 crore gross worldwide on a reported budget of around Rs 2 crore.
Makers Focused on the Theatrical Run
The team has repeatedly said that the film’s theatrical run comes first. Producer Ragini Sona earlier denied reports of a Rs 100 crore OTT offer, calling them rumours, and asked audiences to watch the film in cinemas. She later said the film has received offers from streaming platforms, but director Vishal Chaturvedi wants to extend the run in theatres and will take the final call.
The makers have spoken about a 100-day theatrical run, which the film will complete in less than four weeks. A digital deal, if signed, is likely to be announced only after that.
Still Earning in Theatres
Even in its eleventh week, Hanuman Ansh continues to add to its total. The film has collected Rs 339.71 crore net in India so far, with an India gross of Rs 400.88 crore and Rs 48.50 crore from overseas markets.
A Telugu version of the film, released by Hombale Films on October 9, is also running in theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which gives the makers another reason to hold back the OTT release for now.
From Low-Key Opening to Blockbuster
Hanuman Ansh opened in only around 250 theatres and earned about Rs 1 crore net in its first week. Strong word of mouth then pushed it to more than 2,000 screens, and it earned over Rs 90 crore net in its fifth week alone. Uttarakhand also made the film tax-free in September.
Interestingly, Chaturvedi has said he first pitched the story to a streaming platform, which turned it down before the film went on to succeed in theatres.
