Tu Hai Meri Kiran Trailer Review: Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s Real-Life Romance Meets Reel-Life Obsession

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's first film since their wedding is anything but a typical romance, and the trailer makes that very clear.

Tu Hai Meri Kiran Trailer Review

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are stepping into territory neither of them has really explored before, and the timing makes it even more interesting. Tu Hai Meri Kiran marks their first film together since they got married, and instead of a sweet romance, the couple is diving straight into a psychological thriller that looks genuinely unsettling.

The trailer wastes no time setting the mood. Sonakshi plays Kiran while Zaheer takes on the role of Samar, and the two share what starts out as a warm, easy connection.

But things shift quickly. Samar’s feelings for Kiran grow more intense with time, slowly crossing over from affection into something closer to obsession. Kiran, on the other hand, does not feel the same way and tries to create distance, asking him more than once to simply leave her alone.

That is where the trailer takes its darkest turn. Samar refuses to let go, and his behaviour becomes increasingly erratic as the story builds. By the end, we see Kiran lying injured and unconscious, while Samar calmly promises to take care of her forever. It is a chilling note to end on, and it sets up exactly the kind of unease the makers seem to be going for.

Interestingly, the film keeps its actual plot fairly guarded. Rather than explaining the full story upfront, the trailer focuses on building tension and raising questions, which honestly works in its favour. Director Karan Rawal has spoken about wanting audiences to constantly question what is real and what is not, and based on the trailer alone, that intention comes through clearly.

Sonakshi has described the role as a space she has never really explored before, calling the film’s world unsettling in a way that kept her hooked throughout the process.

Zaheer, meanwhile, pointed to the idea of one-sided love spiralling into something far more intense as the main reason he wanted to be part of the project. The two previously worked together in Double XL, so this marks another on-screen reunion for the real-life couple, this time in a much heavier genre.

If twisted love stories and obsession-driven dramas are your thing this October, there is more worth keeping an eye on. The trailer for Ishqa Ishqa recently dropped as well, and it explores a love triangle that edges dangerously close to obsession of its own.

On a completely different note, if you are in the mood for a Hollywood thriller instead, the Animals teaser and trailer give a solid first look at Ben Affleck’s upcoming project, which has its own share of tension and mystery.

Producer Vishal Rana has also spoken about the film’s central relationship, describing it as unpredictable and something that keeps audiences questioning what is real right until the end. That seems to be the biggest hook of Tu Hai Meri Kiran, a story that refuses to hand over easy answers.

Produced by Vishal Rana under Echelon Productions and directed by Karan Rawal, Tu Hai Meri Kiran is set to release in theatres on October 23, 2026, where it will go head-to-head with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Udta Teer. Given how intense the trailer already feels, this could end up being one of the more talked-about thrillers of the season.
