Made on a budget of just Rs 2 crore, the devotional drama has gone on to cross Rs 169 crore gross in India, and the salaries its cast reportedly earned make that jump feel even more staggering.
That’s over 84 times its original production budget, and it reportedly broke the fifth-week record previously held by Dhurandhar. Given that kind of run, it’s no shock that Hanuman Ansh’s OTT release date has already been announced, even though the streaming platform isn’t confirmed yet.
Hanuman Ansh Cast Salary: Reported Earnings
According to reports circulating online, the combined remuneration for the six central cast members of Hanuman Ansh comes to around Rs 38.5 lakh in total. That’s a genuinely tiny figure by Bollywood standards, especially for a film that has gone on to become one of the year’s biggest surprise hits.

The Actor Who Almost Wasn’t in the Film
Shobhinaw Satyaa’s casting story is one of the more unusual parts of this whole journey. He wasn’t originally cast as the lead at all. In fact, he was working behind the scenes as an assistant director on the project.
The actor originally chosen for the lead role fell seriously ill on the very first day of shooting, and director Vishal Chaturvedi, noticing Satyaa’s resemblance to Neem Karoli Baba, decided to cast him instead.
Not a mainstream actor by any stretch, Satyaa stepped into a genuinely demanding lead role and has earned real recognition following the film’s unexpected success.
From Rs 2 Crore to Rs 169 Crore
The film’s box office run is almost a case study in slow-burn word of mouth success. Hanuman Ansh opened on just 25 screens on August 7, 2026, bringing in around Rs 10 lakh on day one and only about Rs 1.08 crore across its entire first week. But strong word of mouth kept pulling audiences into theatres, and by the third week, daily collections started climbing steadily.
By its fifth week, the film had turned into a genuine sleeper hit, earning Rs 70.25 crore across just five days, including Rs 22.75 crore on a single Sunday. By day 33, it had added another Rs 11 crore, pushing its total to roughly Rs 143.13 crore net and Rs 169.20 crore gross in India, all while holding steady against the release of Mirzapur: The Movie on September 4. That’s over 84 times its original production budget, and it reportedly broke the fifth-week record previously held by Dhurandhar.
What’s Next
Director Vishal Chaturvedi has confirmed that Neem Karoli Baba’s story is far from finished, with producer Namrata Singh even hinting at possible appearances by Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma in a second installment.
The franchise was actually planned as a trilogy from the start, inspired by Chaturvedi’s own book Divine Detour, with the next chapter expected to explore Neem Karoli Baba’s early life across Firozabad, Agra and Mathura.
