Operation Sindoor: India Launches Air Strike on Pakistan; Retaliates for Pahalgam Attack, Targets 9 Locations with Missiles

India has avenged the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Amid ongoing tensions with its neighbour, India launched missile strikes on nine terror camps located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Fifteen days after the Pahalgam attack, Indian forces have eliminated key terror bases. According to reports, the Indian Armed Forces carried out airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK as part of a joint military operation named ‘Operation Sindoor’.

News agency ANI, citing sources, reported that the Indian Army and Air Force jointly executed precise strikes using advanced weaponry to destroy terrorist infrastructure.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the Indian forces specifically targeted terror infrastructure involved in planning and executing attacks against India. In total, nine locations were hit. The action was described as targeted, pre-emptive, and non-escalatory. No Pakistani military facilities were attacked.

The ministry further stated that India exercised significant restraint in both the selection of targets and the execution of the operation. This action was taken in response to the brutal terrorist assault in Pahalgam, where 25 Indian tourists and one Nepalese citizen were killed. The government reaffirmed its commitment to holding the perpetrators accountable. Detailed information on ‘Operation Sindoor’ will be released soon.

Justice Delivered to the Pahalgam Attack Perpetrators

On April 22, terrorists opened fire and killed 26 tourists who were enjoying their holidays in the grassy meadows of Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, Pakistan had been issuing veiled threats. India had planned nationwide mock drills today, but simultaneously executed a real strike on Pakistani terror infrastructure.

    Pakistan’s Reaction: Playing the Victim

Following India’s retaliation, Pakistan began to portray itself as the victim on the global stage. According to Pakistan’s Dawn News, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, claimed that India launched missile attacks on Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad. He described the strikes as “cowardly attacks” amid rising tensions between the two countries.
