In response to the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India carried out precision air strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Under “Operation Sindoor,” the Indian Army destroyed several terror bases across regions including Kotli, Ahmedpur Sharqia, Muzaffarabad, Muridke, and Faisalabad. According to sources, at least 17 terrorists were killed and 60 others injured in the operation. The army emphasized that the strikes were carefully calibrated to avoid escalating tensions and did not target any Pakistani military facilities.
Meanwhile, Pakistani celebrities strongly reacted to India’s action, condemning the air strikes and labelling them as “cowardly.”
Mahira Khan Criticises Indian Strikes
One of Pakistan’s most popular actresses, Mahira Khan, reposted a tweet by writer Fatima Bhutto condemning the strikes and added her own comment on Instagram Stories: “Seriously cowardly!!! May Allah protect our country and grant wisdom. Ameen.”
Hania Aamir Calls the Strikes Cowardly
Actress Hania Aamir also responded via her Instagram Story with a single word: “Cowardly,” referring to India’s strike on terror hideouts in Pakistan. Hania has been in the headlines recently—following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, multiple Pakistani celebrities, including Hania, Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Ali Zafar, saw their Instagram accounts banned in India.
Indian Government Confirms the Strikes
The Indian government officially confirmed the late-night strikes, stating that the objective was to dismantle terror infrastructure. A post from the Indian Army’s official handle read, “Justice delivered. Jai Hind.” Several Indian leaders, including Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, praised the armed forces for avenging the Pahalgam victims.
