HIT: The Third Case Telugu Movie Review – A Gritty Thriller That Keeps You Hooked

The third chapter in the HIT Universe raises the bar once again. HIT: The Third Case is a gripping, intense action thriller that continues Sailesh Kolanu’s trend of crafting deeply cerebral crime stories while also expanding the franchise into a broader investigative world. With Nani at the helm as SP Arjun Sarkaar, this installment delivers both thrills and thought.

    Story & Direction:

The plot follows Arjun Sarkaar, a hardened IPS officer with Visakhapatnam HIT, as he delves into a series of brutal murders that appear linked to his past cases. As the mystery thickens, his pursuit of justice stretches across India, pulling in forces from Kashmir to Hyderabad. Sailesh Kolanu’s writing is sharp and layered, packing the screenplay with just enough twists and emotional depth to keep the viewer engaged. The stakes feel higher, the scale broader, and the danger more personal.

    Performances:

Nani brings a steely gravitas to the role of Arjun. His portrayal is restrained yet powerful, reflecting the mental strain of a cop caught in a spiral of violence and moral dilemmas. Srinidhi Shetty, playing Mrudula, holds her own and adds emotional grounding. Surya Srinivas and Adil Pala deliver strong performances as J&K officers, while Rao Ramesh and Brahmaji provide stability and subtle humour to balance the tone.

    Technical Brilliance:

Sanu John Varghese’s cinematography is atmospheric, shifting moods as Arjun’s journey moves from the misty terrains of Kashmir to the coastal shadows of Vizag. Mickey J. Meyer’s music is haunting and well-placed, amplifying suspense without overpowering the scenes. The editing by Karthika Srinivas ensures a tight pace, especially in the final act which is relentless and riveting.

    Highlights:

    • The seamless interconnection with previous HIT cases
    • Nani’s psychological unraveling mirrored through the visuals
    • Intense action sequences that feel raw and real
    • A morally ambiguous ending that stays with you

    Final Verdict:

HIT: The Third Case is a dark, engrossing crime thriller that doesn’t just rely on blood and bullets — it’s layered with trauma, truth, and tough choices. A worthy successor in the HIT Universe, it cements Sailesh Kolanu as a master of slow-burn, high-stakes storytelling.
