Bullet Train from Varanasi to Delhi to Cover 840 Km in Just 3.5 Hours – Check Route and Stops

The Indian government is preparing to launch a bullet train connecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, to the national capital, New Delhi. Covering a distance of approximately 840 kilometers, the journey between Delhi and Varanasi is currently time-consuming and often exhausting—whether by train, bus, or road. Air travel is faster but expensive, making it inaccessible for many. However, with the upcoming bullet train, the same journey will take just 3.5 hours.

The bullet train could prove to be a boon for Uttar Pradesh. According to media reports, the Delhi–Varanasi bullet train will cover the distance in only 3.5 hours and will have 12 stops along the way. The train will start from Hazrat Nizamuddin station in Delhi and travel through Noida Sector 146, Jewar Airport, Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Kannauj, Lucknow, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, and Bhadohi before reaching Manduadih station in Varanasi.

Currently, trains on this route take around 12 hours to complete the journey. The Delhi–Varanasi High-Speed Rail Corridor (DVHSRC) is expected to be completed by 2029, with a projected cost of around ₹43,000 crore.

Once completed, 18 bullet trains will run daily on this route. Trains will operate every 47 minutes from 6 AM to midnight, making travel between Delhi and various cities in Uttar Pradesh much easier.

As per the reports, a new underground station is being constructed at Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi for the bullet train. A 15-kilometre tunnel is also being built. In Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, the bullet train station will be located near Awadh Crossing, between Amausi Airport and Charbagh Railway Station.
