Manasi Ghosh from Kolkata was declared the winner of the singing reality show Indian Idol 15 on Sunday. Among the top five finalists, Subhajit Chakraborty from Kharagpur secured the second position, while Sneha Shankar from Mumbai finished third.
The grand finale witnessed a tough competition between Manasi, Subhajit, and Sneha Shankar. However, based on public voting, Manasi was announced as the winner.
Prize: Rs 25 Lakh and a Car
As the winner, Manasi received the Indian Idol trophy along with a cheque of Rs 25 lakh and a car. The runner-ups, Subhajit and Sneha, were awarded a cheque of Rs 5 lakh each. This year’s finale saw a strong presence from Bengal, with three out of the top five contestants hailing from the state. Interestingly, Manasi and Subhajit have been friends even before the show and considered each other as siblings during the competition.

What Did Manasi Say After Winning?
After her victory, Manasi said, “I still can’t believe I’ve won this trophy. I feel blessed to have received so much love from my parents, my mentors, the audience, and the judges. My mind is full of emotions right now, and I’m unable to express everything.”
The 24-year-old has been passionate about both singing and dancing since childhood. However, she chose singing over dancing and proved herself by winning Indian Idol. To pursue a career in music, she now plans to stay in Mumbai. Manasi considers Sonu Nigam as her idol and dreams of recording a song with him one day.
