When is the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Inauguration? Get the Latest Update on Vadodara Section 27 Work

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is being constructed in multiple sections and will benefit seven states: Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. The stretch from Sohna in Haryana to Dausa in Rajasthan was opened on February 12, 2023. Recently, an update has emerged on the progress of the Vadodara section in Gujarat. Package number 27, covering 28 kilometers, is nearly complete with a four-lane road.

How Much Work Has Been Done in Section 27?

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will pass through multiple states and highways, significantly reducing travel time between Delhi and Mumbai. Currently, construction work is underway in Gujarat’s Delhi-Vadodara section, where approximately 90 kilometers from Vadodara to Sant Road have been completed. This stretch consists of four packages, progressing rapidly, reaching the Dahod section, where visible progress has been noted.

Near Vadodara village, the alignment crosses a hilly area. Four months ago, excavation began on this hill, and now, a four-lane road on one side is almost complete, with white striping in progress. Around 90 percent of the work is finished, with drainage work underway in certain sections.

The project is being completed in different sections, and updates have been received for 30 packages so far. According to media reports, the expressway is expected to be fully completed by 2026.
