The Broken News Season 2 Review: A Thrilling Newsroom Drama

Season 2 of The Broken News features a gripping fight between journalistic integrity and sensationalism in the turbulent world of news media. Vinay Waikul directs and Sambit Mishra writes this eight-part riveting newsroom drama, which takes us past the headlines and into a human struggle for survival.

The rivalry between competing news networks ‘Josh 24/7’ and ‘Awaaz Bharti’ continues. The first season showcased two opposing perspectives on the same issue, highlighting the battle for prime time TRP and captivating the nation’s attention. Radha Bhargava (played by Shriya Pilgaonkar) was imprisoned because Dipankar Sanyal (Jaideep Ahlawat) called her a ‘desh drohi’ on national television. Season 2 focuses on Radha’s post-incarceration desire to fight Dipankar’s manipulative tactics front on.

The creators combine real-world news stories, such as the midday meal swindle, Kadam’s family suicide tragedy (loosely modeled on the Burari deaths), cryptocurrency flow, and power-hungry politicians. The battle between’sach (truth)’ and’sansani (sensationalism)’ extends beyond the newsroom, keeping viewers engaged and captivated.

Season 2 of The Broken News expands on the first season’s pleasant elements. The plot is enjoyable, the problems are pertinent, and the characters—particularly Dipankar Sanyal and Radha Bhargav—are well-developed. The screenplay is racy, making the show completely binge-worthy.

In conclusion, The Broken News Season 2 is a blend of newsroom drama and personal vendetta, providing a nuanced investigation of journalism ethics and personal salvation amid power struggles and betrayals. If you enjoyed the first season, this is a must-see.
