The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to take place in about two months, and preparations are already under way. The Amarnath Yatra will now last for a shorter period of time due to the approaching elections. It will now last for forty-five days, as opposed to the customary two months.

This decision was made public by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha after a meeting at Raj Bhavan. April 15th is when registration for the Amarnath Yatra is expected to open, and arrangements have been made for passenger transportation in designated groups. The planned dates of the Yatra are June 29th through August 19th.

The officials have stated that the conference was held in conjunction with the yearly pilgrimage to the 3,880-meter-high Amarnath temple. Preparations have been made for easy registration. Passengers will also be granted health certifications from accredited hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir for the journey.

The traditional route for the Amarnath Yatra is Baltal and Pahalgam. Every day, a batch of approximately 10,000 pilgrims will be sent from this location. Amarnath pilgrims would be able to register at more than 500 bank branches across the country. Last year, the labor department registered 32,819 Yatra service providers, including 15,903 ponywalas, 10,023 palanquin and dandiwalas, and 6,893 pithuwalas.

The Amarnath Yatra takes place throughout the month of Sawan. In collaboration with the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and the relevant district government, the Labor Department will facilitate prior registration of service providers in their home districts and camps in Ganderbal and Anantnag districts, as well as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in their favor. Will ensure that cards are issued on schedule and without fuss.

Registration centers will also be set up in Sonamarg, Kangan, Manigam, Gund, Gutlibagh, and Baltal in Ganderbal district, as well as Matigauran, Sallar, Khair, Aishmuqam, Anantnag, and Pahalgam in Anantnag district, according to officials.
