5 Lesser Known Places to Visit in India for a Calming Trip

India has many well-known tourist spots, but it also has hidden gems that offer peace and calm. If you’re looking for a relaxing break away from the crowd, these lesser-known destinations might be just what you need. Here are five beautiful places in India that are perfect for a calming trip.

    1. Tirthan Valley, Himachal Pradesh

Tirthan Valley is a serene destination nestled in the Himalayas. Located in Himachal Pradesh, this valley is known for its scenic beauty, river views, and quiet atmosphere. Tirthan Valley is ideal for those who love nature. You can go for gentle hikes, enjoy riverside picnics, and stay in cosy cottages. This valley remains less crowded, making it perfect for a peaceful retreat.

    2. Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh

Ziro is a beautiful and quiet town in Arunachal Pradesh, surrounded by green hills and rice fields. It is home to the Apatani tribe, who have a unique culture and lifestyle. Visiting Ziro feels like stepping into a different world. The Ziro Music Festival, held annually, is also a unique experience if you visit during that time. For calm and nature lovers, Ziro is a wonderful escape.

    3. Gurez Valley, Jammu and Kashmir

Gurez Valley is a hidden paradise in Jammu and Kashmir, close to the Line of Control. This valley is filled with breathtaking landscapes, green fields, and wooden homes. It is untouched by heavy tourism, making it a peaceful spot to relax. You can take walks in the fresh air, meet friendly locals, and experience the beauty of Kashmir away from the crowds.

    4. Doodhpathri, Kashmir

Doodhpathri, which means “Valley of Milk,” is a quiet and scenic valley in Kashmir. It is known for its green meadows and flowing streams. Unlike more popular spots like Gulmarg and Pahalgam, Doodhpathri is less visited, so it remains peaceful and uncrowded. The valley’s untouched beauty and calm surroundings make it a perfect place for relaxation and photography.

    5. Chopta, Uttarakhand

Chopta is a small village in Uttarakhand, often called the “Mini Switzerland of India.” Surrounded by forests and mountains, Chopta is a wonderful place to unwind. It is also the base for the trek to Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. The gentle atmosphere and beautiful scenery in Chopta make it a calming destination where you can reconnect with nature.

These five places in India offer a chance to unwind, enjoy nature, and experience peace. They are perfect if you want a break from the busy city life and are looking for a relaxing holiday in lesser-known areas of India.
