5 Countries Cheaper Than India: Just 40000 Needed to Get a Passport Stamp

Who doesn’t dream of travelling abroad? Everyone wishes to get that first stamp on their passport and proudly say, “We’ve been abroad too!” But travelling overseas often feels expensive, and not everyone wants to spend lakhs of rupees. Many travellers hope to manage everything within ₹50–60,000, just like a holiday inside India. So, here’s a list of countries where you can enjoy a foreign trip on a budget.

    Nepal

When it comes to budget-friendly travel, Nepal tops the list. You can easily plan a 4–5 day trip within ₹35,000–₹40,000. October to March is the best time to visit. The cost will cover your flight, hotels, food, and sightseeing. Popular places include Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Nagarkot.

    Thailand

Thailand is another great option for budget travellers. The country is famous for its beautiful beaches, islands, night markets, floating markets, Buddhist and Hindu temples, along with Thai massage and water sports. Within ₹40,000, you can enjoy Bangkok and Pattaya comfortably.

    Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka, India’s neighbour, is both scenic and pocket-friendly. Its beaches, temples, tea gardens, jungles, and hills bring you closer to nature. A Chennai to Colombo flight costs around ₹10,000, and a 5-day trip will be about ₹40,000. The best part – people here speak Hindi, English, and Tamil, making communication easy.

    Dubai

Though Dubai sounds expensive, a smart plan can make it budget-friendly. Instead of a direct Delhi–Dubai flight, you can fly to Abu Dhabi (cheaper) and then take a 2-hour bus to Dubai. In Dubai, you can explore Desert Safari, Miracle Garden, beaches, malls, and hi-tech museums. Don’t miss the iconic Burj Khalifa. A 5-day trip can be managed within ₹40,000.

    Vietnam

Vietnam is popular for its beaches and rivers, but the best thing here is the currency exchange rate. With Indian rupees, you can enjoy a luxurious trip at a much lower cost. The best time to visit is between March and September.

    Travel Tips

    • Book flights at least 3 months in advance, preferably on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, for cheaper fares.
    • Choose the off-season for lower hotel and hostel prices.
    • Look out for discount offers on hotels and flights.
    • Try local street food instead of expensive restaurants.
    • Use local transport instead of taxis to save money.

With just ₹40,000, your dream of going abroad can come true—without burning a hole in your pocket!
