Thug Life is an upcoming pan-Indian film. The gangster action drama is primarily shot in Tamil and dubbed in various languages to be released across India on 5th June 2025. It marks a collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after almost 40 years. The actor and director duo made ‘Nayakan’, a critically acclaimed film back in 1987. This time the stakes are bigger for both Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam as Thug Life is made on a huge budget. A lot it spent on the salaries of cast members and film’s staff. Thug Life surpasses the budget of Housefull 5, a multistarer comedy which is releasing on 6th June.
Thug Life Cast Salary
Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are the co-producers of Thug Life and they have not taken any money for their respective works in the film. Instead they will be earning through the money which the film makes at the box office and through various satellite and OTT deals. Both of them had agreed to work with a profit-sharing scheme.
Silambarasan TR is playing the main villain in Thug Life and according to sources he is getting a huge fee of Rs 40 Crores. Silambarasan definitely hit a jackpot with Thug Life. Veteran actress, Trisha Krishnan is playing the female lead in Thug Life for a whopping Rs 12 Crore as her salary. It is three times more than her salary for her latest released film.
Ashok Selvan and Joju George are playing key roles in Thug Life and they are commanding a fee of Rs 1 Crore each. Abhirami is also playing a major character in the film for Rs 50 Lakhs.
Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tanikella Bharani, Vadivukarasi, Chinni Jayanth and others are also playing important parts in Thug Life. However, the details regarding their fee structure for the film is not revealed.

Thug Life has a budget of Rs 300 Crore, making it one of the most expensive South Indian films. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have went all in. They will be hoping that the film does well at the box office in the coming days.
