“Jassi keeps getting stuck – in relationships, in troubles – but wins hearts every time. The fun and energy are back, just in a new place.”
Son of Sardaar 2 is a sequel to Ajay Devgn’s hit 2012 film. This time, director Vijay Kumar Arora brings back the same old Punjabi humour, family emotions, and loud fun. The story is set in Scotland, but the film still has the same warm family drama and crazy comedy.
Story and Setting
After many years, Jassi Singh Randhawa (Ajay Devgn) goes to Scotland to make peace with his wife (Mrunal Thakur). But his simple plan turns into a big mess – a Punjabi wedding, two rival mafia gangs, and a funny hostage situation.
The first half of the film is slow because it focuses on introducing the characters and showing light comedy. But after the interval, the film becomes much faster and funnier. The wedding scenes bring one surprise after another and make the second half very entertaining.
Acting and Characters
Ajay Devgn is excellent again as Jassi. His serious face with silly situations makes people laugh. Mrunal Thakur plays her role with charm, showing both sweetness and a strong attitude. Ravi Kishan, Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, and Neeru Bajwa in supporting roles add even more fun. The late Mukul Dev’s presence gives the film some emotional moments.
Direction, Comedy and Music
Director Vijay Kumar Arora gives the movie bright colours and fast speed. The background score is full of Punjabi beats, and songs like The Po Po Song (sung by Guru Randhawa) stand out. The movie is about 2 hours 30 minutes long but rarely feels boring.
The biggest strength of the film is the silly (but fun) comedy and a light emotional touch in the climax. Most of the jokes are clean, without adult or dirty humour.
Conclusion
Son of Sardaar 2 is a perfect family entertainer. It is full of Punjabi-style comedy, strong family bonds, and funny characters. If you liked the first film or just want a clean, light-hearted comedy, this sequel is a good choice. It has the same old flavour but with new twists.
