Retro Box Office Collection Day 4: Suriya’s ‘Retro’ Races Ahead Like a Bullet on Sunday, Smashes Earnings

Retro Box Office Collection Day 4: Suriya, a superstar of South Indian cinema, has delivered numerous blockbusters in Tamil films. Now, he’s back with another power-packed performance in Retro, which is storming the box office. Despite clashing with five other releases, Retro has managed to earn well within just four days. Expectations are high that the film will recover its budget soon.

Retro was released in theatres on 1st May. This Tamil-language film faced a direct clash with the Tamil drama Tourist Family, which has also been performing strongly at the box office. While Tourist Family opened with a modest ₹2 crore on day one, it saw a major jump in collections on Sunday, potentially posing a threat to Retro‘s performance.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro was expected to witness strong Sunday earnings. However, while the film did well, the growth remained moderate. According to Sacnilk, Retro collected only ₹8 crore at the domestic box office on day four, the same amount it earned on Saturday. The film’s total collection so far stands at ₹43 crore.

    • Day 3: ₹8 crore
    • Day 4: ₹8 crore

Raid 2 and HIT 3 Take the Lead

While Suriya’s Retro has had a decent run, it couldn’t surpass the performance of Raid 2 and HIT 3. Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 earned over ₹21 crore on Sunday alone, bringing its total collection to ₹70.75 crore. Meanwhile, Nani-starrer HIT 3 also impressed with ₹9.50 crore on Sunday, pushing its total to ₹51.40 crore.
