Psycho Saiyaan Review: A Dark Love Triangle That Struggles Between Romance and Thriller

Psycho Saiyaan Review: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2 stars out of 5)

Psycho Saiyaan earns 2 out of 5 stars for its strong performances, especially by Ravi Kishan, and decent production values. However, weak writing, uneven pacing, and illogical twists prevent it from becoming a gripping romantic thriller.

Psycho Saiyaan marks Tejasswi Prakash’s OTT debut in a Hindi romantic-thriller web series that blends love, obsession, and gangster politics. Released on Amazon MX Player, the six-episode show attempts to create a gripping psychological drama with emotional layers.

While the series has a promising concept and strong cast, the final execution feels uneven. It tries to balance romance, suspense, and crime but often struggles to maintain consistency.

    Plot Overview

The story revolves around Kartik Pandey, a college student who falls deeply in love with Charu Lata. What begins as a romantic connection slowly transforms into an obsessive relationship filled with emotional tension.

Complications arise when gangster-politician Huntry Chauhan enters the picture. His influence brings violence, power struggles, and psychological conflict into the narrative.

    Tejasswi Prakash’s OTT Debut Performance

Tejasswi Prakash brings intensity and emotional vulnerability to her character, Charu Lata. She handles both romantic and dramatic moments with sincerity.

However, inconsistent writing sometimes limits her performance. Certain character shifts feel sudden, reducing emotional impact.

    Ravi Kishan’s Strong Screen Presence

Ravi Kishan stands out as Huntry Chauhan, delivering a powerful and menacing performance. His portrayal adds depth to the crime angle of the series.

Whenever he appears, the narrative gains momentum. His character becomes one of the few consistently engaging elements.

Ravi Kishan in Fiery Thriller Grip

    Anud Singh Dhaka’s Role

Anud Singh Dhaka plays Kartik with conviction, showing vulnerability and obsession effectively. His performance captures the emotional confusion of a young lover.

Yet, his character development lacks clarity. Stronger writing could have made his arc more impactful.

    Direction and Visual Style

Director Ajay Bhuyan focuses on creating a moody atmosphere using scenic locations like Ujjain and Katni. The visual tone supports the psychological thriller theme.

The cinematography is appealing, especially in outdoor sequences. Costumes and production design also add realism.

    Writing and Screenplay Challenges

The biggest drawback of Psycho Saiyaan lies in its writing. The narrative often feels stretched across six episodes.

Illogical twists and abrupt character changes reduce credibility. The story sometimes prioritizes shock value over emotional logic.

    Pacing Issues

The series starts with promise but loses pace midway. Several scenes feel repetitive and unnecessarily prolonged.

This slow pacing affects viewer engagement. Tighter editing could have improved the experience.

    Emotional Depth and Themes

The show attempts to explore obsession, love, jealousy, and psychological instability. These themes have strong potential.

Unfortunately, the emotional depth does not fully develop. Relationships lack the complexity needed for a psychological drama.

    Audience Reception

Audience reactions have been mixed to negative overall. Some viewers appreciate the atmosphere and performances.

Others feel the series lacks emotional depth and narrative coherence. The climax especially has received criticism for being over-the-top.

    Technical Aspects

Background music helps build tension in key scenes. It complements the darker tone effectively.

Production quality is decent for an OTT series. Visual consistency remains one of the stronger aspects.

    What Works Well

The performances, especially by Ravi Kishan and Tejasswi Prakash, provide moments of engagement. The visual mood and locations also enhance storytelling.

The core idea of obsessive love turning dangerous is interesting. It just needed better execution.

    What Could Have Been Better

Stronger writing and clearer character arcs would have elevated the series. Some plot twists feel forced.

Better pacing and emotional development could have created a more impactful thriller.

    Overall Impact

Psycho Saiyaan had the ingredients for a compelling romantic thriller. A strong cast, intriguing premise, and atmospheric visuals offered promise.

However, inconsistent storytelling prevents it from reaching its full potential. It remains an average watch rather than a standout series.

    Final Verdict

Psycho Saiyaan is a watchable but flawed romantic thriller. It delivers moments of intensity but struggles with narrative consistency.

If you enjoy dark love stories and crime drama, it may still interest you. But expectations should remain moderate.

    Overall Rating: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5)
