Phule Movie Review- A Heart-Touching Tribute to India’s Real Heroes

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Phule is a strong and emotional film about two great heroes from Indian history—Jyotirao Phule and his wife Savitribai Phule. It is a Hindi-language biographical movie, directed by Ananth Mahadevan. The film stars Pratik Gandhi as Jyotirao and Patralekha as Savitribai, and both have done a wonderful job.

The story is set in the 19th century, a time when the caste system in India was very cruel. Jyotirao Phule was born into a poor family of gardeners, and from a young age, he saw how unfair society was. He felt hurt when he was thrown out of a wedding just because of his caste. This moment changed his life. He decided to fight against the injustice.

With his brave wife, Savitribai, Jyotirao started teaching girls and poor children, something nobody did in those days. In 1848, they opened India’s first school for girls in Pune. Many people were angry with them and even threw stones, but the couple never gave up. They also worked for widow remarriage and opened an orphanage for abandoned babies.

Jyotirao wrote powerful books, like Gulamgiri, comparing caste oppression to slavery. He also started the Satyashodhak Samaj, a group that fought for truth and equality. Even after Jyotirao’s health became weak and he died in 1890, Savitribai continued their great work.

Why You Should Watch Phule: This film is more than just a movie. It teaches us about real heroes who fought for justice and education. The acting is excellent—Pratik Gandhi brings great emotion and strength to his role. Patralekha as Savitribai is inspiring and graceful. The film has many emotional moments that may make you cry, but they also make you proud.

Final Words: Phule is a beautiful and powerful film. It tells an important story in a simple and moving way. It shows how two people, full of love and courage, changed the lives of many. Everyone should watch it to learn and to feel inspired.
