Date:

Morris Garages or MG has been on a roll for quite some time with their eccentric vehicles. Starting from the MG hector, which created havoc among buyers, a couple of years back, the automobile manufacturer is back with another one of its eye-catching vehicles.

Yes! We’re talking about the recently launched MG Astor, India’s first AI-based card launched by MG.

The starting price has been stated as 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is a little bit higher than expected, but it’s yet to be tested on the money invested V/S performance value.

MG Astor

MG Astor will be giving tough competition to the mid-ranger compact SUV segment and will be in a direct tug of war with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster Skoda Kushaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun, along with others.

We get to choose between two engine types which are differentiated by the performance and manual V/S automatic gearbox. While on the one hand, you get a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated unit that is good to produce 110 hp of power and 144 Nm of torque with a manual transmission; on the other hand, you’ll get a more powerful 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine that makes 140 hp and 220 Nm.

Wait! That’s not all; we haven’t even started about the special AI-based features that you’d get with the vehicle.

It comes with Level 2 autonomous technology along with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features.

One of the features is lane assist, in which the automobile will automatically sense the lane that you’re driving in and will warn the driver if they deviate from the same due to distraction.

Moreover, it also has rear parking help sensors, which is pretty self-explanatory, along with the cruise control in which the automobile accelerates and decelerates according to the traffic for optimum speed and safety.

Along with that, you also get automated headlamps that can switch between normal and high beams according to your needs.

Lastly, it can assist you in maintaining an optimum speed and not breaking any speed limit by reading signs about the same on the road.

It also has anti front collision feature, which prevents the automobile from accidents by initially alerting the driver about the same and, if needed, creating acceleration for the same cause.
