We often hear a diabetic person complaining of not being able to have what they want in their diet. Or taking too much medication in order to enjoy a small serving of something they wanted to eat.

They can help you maintain a good blood sugar level, which is a necessity for diabetic patients. Now, they are a rich source of fiber, nutrients, and phytochemicals, as well.

The glycemic index is on the higher side as compared to nuts but still remains in the range of under 50. Which is why a diabetic person should consume whole grains.

Yogurt

Yogurt is a source of good bacteria and its recommended that everyone should have it. They are good for the gut and make the digestion process easier.

They hit a score of less than 50 on the glycemic index. Especially the unsweetened yogurt is something, a diabetic person should go for.
