Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film Kuberaa was released in theatres on 20th June. The story revolves around a major oil scam, where a huge amount of black money is hidden under the names of benami individuals. To execute this plan, four beggars are chosen, and the money is concealed in their names.
One of the beggars, Deva, is played by Dhanush. All four are illiterate, and interestingly, the entire operation is carried out under the supervision of a former CBI officer, Deepak, portrayed by Nagarjuna. Although Deepak is an honest officer, he is forced to bend under the weight of corporate influence. The film explores the obstacles involved in this scam and Deva’s crucial role in it. However, the movie did not perform exceptionally well at the box office.
Kuberaa OTT Release Date and Platform
Now, Dhanush’s film Kuberaa is set to release on 18th July on Amazon Prime Video. The official announcement was made by Prime Video on Friday.
Star Cast
Apart from Nagarjuna, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil in important roles. Prime Video, while announcing the release, posted on social media:
“An ordinary man on an extraordinary journey of redemption. Kuberaa streaming on Prime Video from July 18.”
Released in Five Languages
Produced by Sunil Narang and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, the film was released in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
