Rishab Shetty’s mythological action drama Kantara: Chapter 1 has completed two days at the box office. The film was released worldwide in theatres on 2nd October, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. On its opening day, Kantara: Chapter 1 recorded a massive collection, and its first four-day weekend is expected to be outstanding. Within just two days, the film has already crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the domestic box office. Let’s take a look at its day two collections and the records it has broken.
Kantara: Chapter 1 Box Office
According to Sacnilk, Kantara: Chapter 1 opened with ₹61.85 crore on day one in India. Out of this, the highest came from the Kannada version with ₹19.6 crore, followed by Hindi at ₹18.5 crore, Telugu at ₹13 crore, Tamil at ₹5.55 crore, and Malayalam at ₹5.25 crore. The film enjoyed a massive holiday boost on its opening day, but on the second day, collections dropped by around 25%. Still, the film managed to earn ₹46 crore on day two. With this, its two-day total has reached ₹111.7 crore, achieving a double century at the box office in record time.

Film Occupancy Rate
In Kannada theatres on day two, occupancy rates were impressive: 60.3% in the morning shows, 90.73% in the afternoon, 86.48% in the evening, and 92% at night, making the overall occupancy 82.31%. In the Hindi belt, the overall occupancy was 15.82%, with 7.39% in the morning, 12.67% in the afternoon, 12.67% in the evening, and 27.90% at night.

The story is deeply rooted in folklore, culture, and spirituality. Produced by Hombale Films, the makers of KGF and Salaar, this film serves as a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, which had earned over ₹400 crore worldwide.
