How to Check Your CIBIL Score for Free by Using a PAN Card

Your CIBIL score is an important number that shows how good you are at managing credit. A high score makes it easier to get loans or credit cards, while a low score can make it difficult. If you want to check your CIBIL score for free using your PAN card, follow these simple steps.

    What is a CIBIL Score?

A CIBIL score is a three-digit number ranging from 300 to 900. It is calculated based on your credit history, such as loan repayments, credit card usage, and past defaults. A score above 750 is considered good.

Steps to Check Your CIBIL Score for Free Using a PAN Card

    1. Visit the Official Website

Go to the official website of TransUnion CIBIL: www.cibil.com. This is the safest way to check your score without any hidden charges.

    2. Click on ‘Get Your Free CIBIL Score’

On the homepage, find the option that says “Get Your Free CIBIL Score” and click on it.

    3. Enter Your Personal Details

You will be asked to enter some basic details:

    • Name (as per PAN card)
    • Date of birth
    • Email ID
    • Mobile number
    • PAN card number

Ensure that the details match exactly with your bank records.

    4. Verify Your Identity

After filling in the details, you will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP to proceed.

    5. View Your CIBIL Score

Once your details are verified, you will be able to see your CIBIL score for free. You can also download a credit report that shows more details about your credit history.

    Why is PAN Card Needed?

Your PAN card is linked to all your financial transactions, including loans and credit cards. It helps CIBIL track your credit history and generate an accurate score.

How Often Can You Check Your Score for Free?

CIBIL allows you to check your score for free once a year. If you need to check it more often, you may have to pay for a subscription.

    Final Thoughts

Checking your CIBIL score regularly helps you understand your financial health. If your score is low, you can improve it by paying bills on time, reducing credit card usage, and avoiding loan defaults. With just your PAN card and a few minutes, you can easily check your score and stay informed about your creditworthiness.
