GST Rate Cut: TVs, ACs, Dishwashers, and Gadgets to Get Cheaper This Festive Season

Before Diwali, Navratri, and the upcoming festive season, the central government has given a big gift to consumers. If you are planning to buy consumer electronics in the coming days, you can expect big savings, thanks to the new GST rates that will come into effect from 22nd September 2025.

On Wednesday, the 56th GST Council meeting was held in New Delhi, where several major decisions were taken, including changes in GST tax slabs. The GST rates on smart TVs, air conditioners, electronic dishwashers, monitors, and projectors have been reduced from 28% to 18%.

Air Conditioners and TVs to Become Cheaper

Under the new changes, air conditioners will now attract 18% GST instead of the previous 28%. Similarly, televisions will also be taxed at 18%, down from 28% earlier.
