    From ‘Mandala Murders’ to ‘Sarzameen’: 12 New Films and Web Series Releasing This Week on OTT

    While Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara is making waves in theatres, no major films are hitting the big screen this Friday, July 25. However, OTT platforms are buzzing with exciting releases. From Vaani Kapoor’s debut web series Mandala Murders, to Sarzameen starring Ibrahim Ali Khan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Kajol, and Vineet Kumar Singh’s intense drama Rangeen, this week is packed with binge-worthy content.

    OTT Releases from July 21 to July 27:

    Mandala Murders (Netflix – July 25)

    Vaani Kapoor makes her digital debut with this gripping crime-thriller set in the haunting town of Charan Daspur. She plays detective Ria Thomas, investigating disturbing serial killings alongside her partner Vikram Singh (Vaibhav Raj Gupta). As they dive deeper, a secret society and age-old myths begin to unravel. Surveen Chawla and Shriya Pilgaonkar also feature in key roles.

    Sarzameen (JioHotstar – July 25)

    Ibrahim Ali Khan’s second film explores the turmoil in Kashmir through the story of army officer Vijay Menon (Prithviraj Sukumaran). His biggest test comes when his own son, Harman (Ibrahim), becomes a radicalized militant. Caught between national duty and family, his wife Meera (Kajol) faces an emotional storm. A powerful tale of love, loyalty, and conflict.

    Rangeen (Prime Video – July 25)

    Vineet Kumar Singh stars in this emotional drama about a devoted husband whose life is shattered by betrayal. The series dives into themes of masculinity, love, and morality as the protagonist spirals into a world of desire and revenge. Also featuring Rajshri Deshpande, Taruk Raina, and Sheeba Chadha.

    Saunkan Saunkne 2 (ZEE5 – July 25)

    This Punjabi comedy revolves around Nirmal (Ammy Virk), caught in a hilarious love triangle with his two wives, Naseeb (Sargun Mehta) and Kirna (Nimrat Khaira). The drama intensifies when Nirmal’s mother brings an Italian woman into the mix, leading to more chaos at home.

    The Society (JioHotstar – July 21)

    Comedian and Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui launches a new game show, The Society, featuring over 200 hours of gameplay with 25 contestants divided into Royals, Regulars, and Rags. Each participant competes to become the ultimate winner in a dynamic ranking battle.

    The Hunting Wives (Netflix – July 21)

    Based on May Cobb’s novel, this thriller series follows Sophie O’Neill (Brittany Snow) as she gets drawn into an elite group of wealthy women known as “The Hunting Wives” in East Texas. Behind their glamorous façade lie secrets, jealousy, and even murder. Also stars Malin Akerman and Dermot Mulroney.

    Letters from the Past (Netflix – July 23)

    This Turkish drama begins with a high school assignment in 2003 where students write letters to their future selves. In 2023, literature teacher Fatma’s daughter Elif stumbles upon these letters and embarks on a journey to return them. Along the way, she uncovers forgotten friendships, secrets, and a surprising revelation about her birth mother.

    Tin Soldier (Prime Video – July 23)

    An action-packed thriller starring Scott Eastwood as Nash Cavanaugh, a former Special Forces operative sent to infiltrate a mysterious group of war heroes led by Bokushi (Jamie Foxx). As Nash earns their trust, he becomes entangled in themes of loyalty, radicalism, and betrayal. Robert De Niro plays government agent Emmanuel Ashburn.

    Washington Black (JioHotstar – July 23)

    Based on the novel by Esi Edugyan, this mini-series follows the journey of 11-year-old Wash Black (Ernest Kingsley Jr.), a slave on a Barbados sugar plantation who finds a new life through inventor Christopher “Titch” Wilde (Tom Ellis). The story blends timelines and features Sterling K. Brown as a Black community leader in Nova Scotia.

    The Sandman Season 2 Volume 2 (Netflix – July 24)

    The next installment of The Sandman picks up with Morpheus navigating a mythical land filled with darkness, revenge, and shattered loyalties. As the Dreaming begins to collapse, he must confront crimes of the past, vengeful gods, nightmares, and family betrayal.

    Novocaine (Prime Video – July 24)

    Jack Quaid stars as Nate Kane, a mild-mannered bank employee born with a rare condition — he feels no pain. When his girlfriend Sherry (Amber Midthunder) is taken hostage during a robbery, Nate’s unique disorder becomes his greatest weapon as he fights back in this intense action-thriller.

    Trigger (Netflix – July 25)

    This K-drama action thriller centers around illegal arms smuggling in South Korea. Former military sniper and now detective Lee Do (Kim Nam-gil) sets out to dismantle a powerful arms network led by Moon Baek (Kim Young-kwang). A gripping 10-episode series filled with crime, justice, and moral dilemmas.
