Fighter Box Office Collection Day 9: On its ninth day since release on January 25, Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone sees no recovery at the domestic box office, continuing to decline. Early estimates on Sacnilk.com suggest the film earned around ₹5.35 crore nett in India on Friday, ₹1.15 crore less than its Thursday collection of ₹6.5 crore nett.

Despite a promising opening, Fighter faced a disappointing box office performance in India, with a total earning of ₹140.35 crore nett in its opening week. The film experienced a decline in collections, with an overall occupancy of 11.89 percent on Wednesday. While it earned ₹118.5 crore in its opening weekend, Monday’s unexpectedly low collection of ₹8 crore marked the beginning of its downward trend. However, the film is performing better at the international box office.
The contrast between Fighter’s performance in India and abroad has caused concern among film trade insiders. Taran Adarsh expressed surprise at the film’s underperformance in India despite having star names, a reputable director, critical acclaim, and positive audience feedback.

Taran Adarsh further highlighted the paradox of Fighter’s performance, stating, “To face a setback at the very start of the year is indeed worrisome. Having said that, while the numbers are witnessing a downward trend in #India, the biz in key international markets continue to be strong, *even on weekdays… Markets like #USA, Canada, Australia, and NZ (New Zealand) are still holding fort, even after an excellent weekend. How does one explain this paradox?”
