Etihad Airways is celebrating its 20th anniversary of flying to India by offering up to 20% off on ticket bookings to and from India. The offer is available for bookings made through Etihad.com between September 19 and September 21, 2024, for travel between October 1, 2024, and March 15, 2025. This milestone marks two decades since Etihad launched its first flight to Mumbai in September 2004, followed by Delhi in December of the same year.
Over the years, Etihad has significantly expanded its operations in India, now flying to 11 Indian destinations, including new additions like Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Jaipur. The airline has also increased seat capacity with additional flights to Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, now operating over 50 extra flights per week to India compared to the previous year.

In celebration of the milestone, Etihad’s CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted India’s importance as a strategic market for the airline. Etihad began its 20-year celebrations by introducing Airbus A380 flights between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, offering passengers the unique experience of flying on the iconic double-decker aircraft.
Etihad has deepened its ties with Indian sports and entertainment, partnering with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League. The airline has also signed Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif as a brand ambassador, further strengthening its connection with Indian consumers.
To enhance the flying experience for Indian travelers, Etihad now offers regional cuisine on flights departing from India, with locally curated menus reflecting the diverse culinary heritage of the country. The airline has also launched a Hindi language website to improve accessibility for Indian customers and provides a wide range of Bollywood entertainment on board.
