Imagine Asmara, a young girl whose summer plans suddenly change when she’s sent to her grandparents’ neighbourhood as punishment for something she did. To save face with her friends, she pretends she’s actually in Canada, living it up. But in reality, she’s navigating life in a more traditional setting with her grandparents. As she adjusts to this new environment, she learns valuable lessons about family, culture, and responsibility.
