I just finished watching De De Pyaar De 2, and honestly, it’s one of those rare sequels that doesn’t disappoint. If you enjoyed the first film, you’ll find plenty to love here. Even if you missed the original, this movie works well on its own.
The Story This Time
The film picks up a few years after the first movie. Ajay Devgn’s character is now dealing with new family dynamics and the challenges that come with a significant age gap relationship. Without giving away spoilers, the story introduces fresh complications that feel realistic rather than forced. There’s a wedding, family drama, and plenty of misunderstandings that drive the plot forward.
The Cast Shines Bright
Ajay Devgn is effortlessly charming as always. He plays the older romantic lead with such ease that you forget he’s acting. His comic timing is spot-on throughout the film.
Rakul Preet Singh brings energy and spunk to her role. She’s confident, funny, and handles the emotional scenes beautifully. Her character feels more mature in this sequel, which works well.
R. Madhavan is a wonderful addition to the cast. He adds a new dimension to the story and shares great screen chemistry with Ajay. Their bromance is actually one of the highlights.
Meezaan Jafri is absolutely delightful. Even with limited screen time, He makes every scene count. His presence adds weight to the family dynamics.
Jaaved Jaaferi provides solid comic relief. His timing and expressions had me cracking up. He knows exactly when to dial it up and when to hold back.
The supporting cast, including the actors playing family members, adds authenticity. Everyone seems comfortable in their roles, making the family scenes feel real and relatable.

What Works Really Well
The humor is the star here. The movie balances comedy and emotion beautifully. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times, especially during family gathering scenes. The awkward moments feel genuine rather than over-the-top.
The film handles the age difference topic with more maturity this time. Instead of making it the entire joke, it explores deeper issues about acceptance and societal judgment.
Should You Watch It?
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
De De Pyaar De 2 is perfect weekend entertainment. The stellar cast elevates the material, and there’s enough heart to balance the laughs. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially for a family movie night.
