As of now, India and every hit nation are striving hard to find a solution to the pandemic. Over the last 2 months, 110 different projects have been assigned to different research labs and medical centers all over the globe to find a prominent cure for the SARS-CoV-19 virus.

India’s Pune-based serum institute is one of the first ones to work on vaccines. But one of the world’s largest. The facility can produce 1.5 billion vaccine doses per year and currently, is working on 3 projects to produce COVID-19 vaccines, cooperated with the UK and the USA.

Adding to the Pune-based firm is the Moderna’s RNA vaccine. The company is a strong competition in producing a viable vaccine distribution in the country. Recently, the company also successfully finished Stage-1 of the clinical trial on 8 COVID-19 positive candidates.

The firm also claims that these 8 subjects have formed an antibody-antigen against the virus. Not only this, but the vaccine, the Moderna’s mRNA vaccine (mRNA-1273) does show signs to improve immunity and bring down the mortality rate in the country.

2 days ago, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan stated that four out of the 14 COVID-19 vaccine candidates from India may enter the clinical trial stage in the next three-five months. There are more than 100 candidates in the country who are working at different levels for this work.

Lastly, to say, it is very difficult to predict an accurate time for the arrival of a strong vaccine. As per the experts, the process that this involves may result in a period of 1 year or more to find the positive COVID-19 vaccination.

Till the vaccines are under-development people are advised to follow the instructions given by our government including social distancing and wearing protective gear while working or going out. Stay tuned for further updates.
