Byomkesh O Durgo Rahasya is a captivating detective thriller directed by Birsa Dasgupta that brings Saradindu Bandyopadhyay’s iconic character, Satyanweshi Byomkesh Bakshi, to life. Dev’s portrayal of Byomkesh is engaging, capturing the essence of the astute and enigmatic detective. Rukmini Maitra’s performance as Satyabati, Byomkesh’s wife, adds depth to the character dynamics, while Ambarish Mukherjee shines as Byomkesh’s trusted friend Ajit.
Set against a backdrop of mystery and intrigue, the film revolves around the mysterious death of Professor Ishan Chandra Majumder, which initially appears to be a snake bite. Byomkesh, along with Ajit, sets out to unravel the complexities surrounding this seemingly simple case. Their investigation leads them to DSP Purandar Pandey, and together, they delve into a web of secrets that involve a buried treasure and a series of inexplicable deaths within the Singha family.
The film’s strength lies in its ability to keep the audience hooked with its layered storytelling and intricate plot twists. As Byomkesh navigates through a series of unnatural deaths, the suspense builds, leaving viewers guessing whether these incidents are mere accidents or part of a larger, sinister plan.
