Blackout in Amritsar Again; Residents Asked to Stay Indoors and Turn Off Lights

Following India’s Operation Sindoor, the Pakistani military tried to spread propaganda in the media, claiming that India had destroyed civilian sites. The aim was to defame India globally. However, the video and images circulated by Pakistan were contradicted when terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba released its own video from the same location, calling it its headquarters — thereby unintentionally confirming India’s claim.

PM Modi to Meet President Murmu, All-Party Meeting Called

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet President Droupadi Murmu to brief her about the strike. Additionally, the central government has scheduled an all-party meeting on Thursday to inform the opposition about the details of the operation.

Army and Air Force Reveal Operation Details

In a press conference, Army Colonel Sophia and Air Force representative Vyomika Singh revealed how the Indian forces entered Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to destroy terror hubs of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Jaish-e-Mohammed. The Indian military also released footage of Operation Sindoor during the conference.

Swift Indian Strike Left Pakistan Reeling

The Indian Army launched a swift and powerful strike from 1:05 AM to 1:30 AM, leaving the Pakistani side with no time to respond. According to sources, Pakistan was confused for 25–30 minutes after the strike and began repositioning their artillery guns without firing, fearing that Indian forces had located their positions. Eventually, Pakistan began heavy shelling in retaliation.

UNGA President Deeply Concerned Over Escalation

UN General Assembly President Dennis Francis expressed deep concern over the rising hostilities between India and Pakistan. He urged both nations to show restraint and immediately de-escalate tensions. He strongly condemned all acts of terrorism and attacks on civilians or infrastructure, emphasizing that diplomacy and dialogue, in line with international law and the UN Charter, are the only path to lasting peace and stability.

Blackout Again in Amritsar

Amritsar authorities have reinstated blackout measures as a precaution. The district administration urged residents to stay indoors, remain calm, avoid gathering outside, and switch off all exterior lights.

Lahore and Islamabad Airports Closed for Commercial Flights

The Pakistani government has shut down airspace for commercial flights at Lahore and Islamabad airports. The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) cited serious risks to civilian aviation due to India’s “reckless and provocative actions” and has informed the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) of its concerns. Karachi airport remains operational.

Ukraine Urges Restraint

Ukraine called on both India and Pakistan to remain calm and engage in meaningful diplomatic dialogue. It warned against actions that could worsen the security situation in South Asia and advocated for peaceful solutions through diplomacy. Ukraine’s foreign ministry pledged to closely monitor developments and support international peace initiatives.

Rawalpindi Imposes Strict Blackout Orders

Rawalpindi district, home to Pakistan’s military headquarters, has enforced a strict blackout from 7 PM to 5 AM in all private residential areas. Residents have been instructed to turn off all outdoor lights, including those in balconies and gardens.

Sirens Sound in Bahawalnagar and Sialkot

The Pakistani Army has directed evacuations of villages in Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, and Narowal districts near the international border. Full blackouts have been imposed in military zones amid fears of another Indian strike.

Control Room Set Up in Srinagar to Monitor Situation

Following India’s missile strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK, authorities in Srinagar have set up a central control room. The control center, operating under the District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC), will monitor developments, facilitate inter-department coordination, and address public grievances in real time. Jammu and Kashmir’s government has also instructed all department heads to avoid granting leave to staff unless absolutely necessary.
