Baaghi 4 Movie Review: Tiger Shroff’s Darkest Chapter Yet

    Baaghi 4 Movie Review

The Baaghi franchise takes a bold turn with its fourth installment, and the results are both shocking and impressive. Director A. Harsha, making his Hindi film debut, has crafted something completely different from what fans might expect. This isn’t just another action movie – it’s a psychological thriller wrapped in the franchise’s signature high-octane stunts.

The Story Takes a Dark Turn

Baaghi 4 follows Ronnie (Tiger Shroff) after he survives a train crash that was meant to end his life. The film explores his mental breakdown as grief and guilt consume him. Reality becomes blurred, and those around him start questioning what’s real and what exists only in his troubled mind.

This premise alone sets Baaghi 4 apart from its predecessors. Where previous films focused on straightforward action plots, this one dives deep into psychological territory that feels genuinely unsettling.

    Tiger Shroff’s Career-Best Performance

Tiger Shroff delivers what might be his most intense performance to date. Gone is the clean-cut hero from earlier Baaghi movies. Here, we see Ronnie at his most vulnerable and dangerous. Shroff handles the emotional weight beautifully while maintaining the physical prowess we expect from him. His action sequences are brutal and desperate, matching his character’s fractured mental state perfectly.

    Supporting Cast Brings Depth

Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist, and his face-off with Tiger marks their first on-screen battle. Dutt brings his trademark intensity to a role that seems tailor-made for his screen presence. The confrontations between him and Shroff crackle with tension.

Harnaaz Sandhu makes her Hindi film debut and holds her own alongside the established stars. While her role could have been more developed, she brings a fresh energy to the franchise. Sonam Bajwa gets more substantial material to work with and delivers a solid performance.

The supporting ensemble includes Shreyas Talpade, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Upendra Limaye, who add layers to the story. Mahesh Thakur appears as Doctor Anand, playing a crucial role in Ronnie’s psychological journey, while Sunit Morarjee plays Inspector Sharad Kute. Each brings credibility to their roles, making the world feel lived-in rather than just a backdrop for action.

    Direction and Technical Aspects

    A. Harsha’s direction deserves praise for taking such a risky approach. The film has a gritty, almost noir-like quality that’s completely new for the franchise. The action sequences are choreographed with brutal precision, but they serve the story rather than existing just for spectacle.

The cinematography captures Ronnie’s deteriorating mental state through clever use of lighting and camera angles. When reality starts bending, the visuals bend with it, creating an unsettling viewing experience.

    The Adult Rating Makes Sense

The film received an “A” certificate from the CBFC, and it’s well-deserved. This is significantly more violent and psychologically intense than previous Baaghi films. The content feels mature and thoughtful rather than gratuitously violent, but it’s definitely not for younger audiences who might have enjoyed the earlier movies.

    What Works and What Doesn’t

The psychological thriller elements work brilliantly. The film keeps you guessing about what’s real, and that uncertainty creates genuine tension. Tiger Shroff’s performance evolution is remarkable, and the supporting cast provides solid backup.

However, the film sometimes struggles to balance its psychological elements with the action franchise expectations. Some viewers expecting a typical Baaghi experience might find the darker tone jarring.

    Final Verdict

Baaghi 4 is a brave experiment that largely succeeds. It respects the franchise’s action roots while pushing into new territory that feels fresh and exciting. Tiger Shroff proves he can handle complex material, and the ensemble cast supports him well.

This isn’t a mindless action movie – it’s a psychological thriller that happens to have incredible fight sequences. If you’re open to seeing the Baaghi franchise grow up, this film delivers something genuinely surprising and emotionally engaging.

For fans of psychological thrillers and intense action, Baaghi 4 represents a mature evolution that suggests exciting possibilities for future installments.

    Rating: 4/5 Stars

The film earns high marks for its bold direction, Tiger Shroff’s career-best performance, and successful genre-blending. While it might not appeal to every Baaghi fan expecting traditional action, it’s a compelling psychological thriller that proves the franchise can evolve beyond its comfort zone.
