The Asia Cup 2025 has already turned into a big controversy. On 26th July, the dates and full schedule of the Asia Cup were announced. Once again, the India vs Pakistan match has become a heated topic. This time, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come under heavy criticism after the schedule was revealed.
Recently, an India-Pakistan Match Was Cancelled
Recently, in the World Championship of Legends League, the match between India and Pakistan was called off. Indian players suddenly refused to play, which led to the cancellation of the game. To pacify disappointed Indian fans, the league sponsors even issued an apology and said that they stand with the country.
Now, the focus has shifted to the Asia Cup and the Women’s World Cup. With the Asia Cup schedule out, BCCI has come under the radar once again. After the Pahalgam attack in April, tensions between India and Pakistan have been running high.
When Will India vs Pakistan Clash?
The Asia Cup will be held from 9th September to 28th September. On 14th September, India and Pakistan are scheduled to face each other. However, controversy has already begun a month and a half before this match. Many people are demanding that India boycott playing Pakistan even in global tournaments. Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has openly targeted the BCCI and opposed this match.

Questions Raised About the Sports Minister Too
Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“Dear BCCI, please remember that we Indians will oppose any kind of cricketing engagement with Pakistan, no matter which country you choose to host it in. Stop earning profits over the blood of Indians and our soldiers. On one side, India’s CDS has confirmed that Operation Sindoor is ongoing, and on the other side, you are running after your bloody profits. Hello, Mansukh Mandaviya ji, how is this acceptable?”
She further added:
“If India’s Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya ji and Home Minister Amit Shah ji allow this match to go on, then after the Pahalgam terror attack, India’s policy of not talking to terrorists will appear meaningless. Please understand the sentiments of the nation… We want the terrorists to be caught and victims to get justice, not to see a cricket match being played.”
