After the announcement of the Asia Cup 2025 schedule, Indian fans expressed their anger. According to the program released by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Saturday, the tournament will start on 9 September, and the big India vs Pakistan clash is scheduled for 14 September. After the Pahalgam attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, which has further strained relations between India and Pakistan.
WCL match was cancelled
Recently, during the World Championship of Legends, Indian players refused to play against Pakistan. As a result, that match had to be cancelled. Now, with the India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025, fans are reacting differently. Many say that India should skip the Asia Cup entirely. However, this time Team India cannot pull out of the Asia Cup or the Pakistan match. Let’s understand why.
BCCI has given the green signal
During the ACC meeting, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave approval, which means the India-Pakistan match will go ahead as scheduled. On Saturday, ACC officially announced the Asia Cup schedule, confirming that the India vs Pakistan group-stage match will take place on 14 September. Both teams have been placed in Group A alongside UAE and Oman.

A BCCI source told IANS on Sunday:
“The BCCI cannot back out of the tournament or the match now. After the ACC meeting, this decision was agreed upon. India is the host country, so nothing can be changed at this point. Discussions were held at an official level, and the outcome was finalised. The match will be played as scheduled.”
After the release of the Asia Cup 2025 schedule, BCCI has not made any official statement about boycotting Pakistan in this tournament.
