Leanne Season 2 Release Date - Netflix Comedy Series Returns on August 27

Fans of the popular Netflix sitcom Leanne do not have long to wait for the new season. Leanne Season 2 premieres globally on Netflix on August 27, 2026.

The comedy series, created by Leanne Morgan, Chuck Lorre, and Susan McMartin, became a genuine hit after its first season landed in 2025. Now it is coming back with more family drama, relationships, everyday problems, and the kind of awkward situations that make Leanne so much fun to watch.

Season 2 continues Leanne’s story as she settles into a new stage of her life. While she is busy trying to build her own future, her family and relationships keep throwing plenty of surprises her way.

What Is Leanne Season 2 About?

The second season picks up with Leanne facing more changes across her personal and family life, with the show continuing to lean into the funny and sometimes genuinely difficult experiences of a woman starting fresh.

The trailer gives viewers a solid idea of what is coming. One big problem kicks off when Leanne’s parents’ house catches fire after a kitchen accident, forcing them to move into Leanne’s home and opening the door to plenty of family arguments and comedy.

Leanne is also still working through her relationship with Andrew, played by Tim Daly. Meanwhile, her ex-husband Bill remains part of her life too, which means her romantic and family situations are unlikely to get simple any time soon.

    Leanne Season 2 Trailer

Netflix has already dropped the trailer for Season 2, and it promises another fun, chaotic ride. The trailer shows Leanne dealing with her parents after their house catches fire, and having Mama Margaret and Daddy John move into her home quickly turns her once peaceful space into a much busier one.

There are also hints about Leanne’s relationship with Andrew, along with plenty of funny moments involving her sister Carol. Going by the trailer, Season 2 looks set to keep the same mix of family humour, relationship troubles, and everyday chaos that worked so well in the first season.

    Leanne Season 2 Cast

The main cast is all returning for the second season, with Leanne Morgan once again playing the central character, Leanne.

The returning cast includes Kristen Johnston as Carol, Celia Weston as Mama Margaret, Blake Clark as Daddy John, Ryan Stiles as Bill, and Tim Daly as Andrew.

Other returning faces include Jayma Mays as Kelly, Graham Rogers as Tyler, Hannah Pilkes as Josie, and Andrea Anders as Logan. Recurring actors Annie Gonzalez and Blake Gibbons are also expected to be back.

New Guest Stars in Leanne Season 2

Season 2 also brings a handful of new faces to the sitcom, with Netflix announcing guest appearances from some genuinely well-known names.

Country music star Lainey Wilson is among the new guest stars, alongside Jaime Pressly, Benim Foster, Billy Gardell, and Emmy winner Tyne Daly.

Tyne Daly’s appearance is a particularly nice touch, since she is the real-life sister of Tim Daly, who plays Andrew in the series.

How Many Episodes Will Leanne Season 2 Have?

Unlike the first season, which ran for 16 episodes, Leanne Season 2 comes in at 10 episodes.

The upcoming episodes carry titles like A Prison of Love, An Enhancement…Or Two, Bang Me, Big Hammer Energy, Fit as a Fiddle, and Pickles Are Forever.

Other episode titles include Have A Rocky Top Day, The Big Hm-Hm, The Old Cat Had Her Reasons, and Three Degrees of Southern Women. Just from these titles alone, it is clear the show has not lost its quirky sense of humour.

When Did Leanne Season 2 Start Filming?

Production on the second season kicked off in January 2026 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California.

Since Leanne is a multi-camera sitcom filmed in front of a live studio audience, production wrapped up fairly quickly. Filming continued through the early part of the year before the cast and crew finished up in April 2026.

The cast celebrated getting back on set too, with Leanne Morgan sharing her excitement about filming the new season with fans.

Why Was Leanne Renewed for Season 2?

The first season performed strongly for Netflix and quickly built up a genuinely loyal audience. The show’s focus on family, relationships, and starting over resonated with viewers who enjoy simple, character-driven comedy.

The series also became one of Netflix’s notable comedy releases after its 2025 debut. That success helped secure an early renewal, giving the creators a real chance to continue telling Leanne’s story.

The second season looks set to build on that popularity while bringing in new situations and characters along the way.

What Can Viewers Expect From Season 2?

The new season looks like it is sticking to the basic style of the first while handing the characters fresh problems to work through. Leanne is still trying to enjoy her new life, but her family has a real way of complicating things.

Her parents moving into her house could easily become one of the biggest sources of comedy this season. Meanwhile, her relationship with Andrew and her ongoing connection to Bill could add another layer to the story.

Most importantly, Season 2 seems to be staying close to what made the sitcom popular in the first place: family, friendship, relationships, and the funny side of ordinary life.
