If you hold an Indian passport, your international travel is now going to be much easier. According to the Henley Passport Index 2025, Indian citizens can now visit 58 countries without a visa or with an easy visa-on-arrival process. This includes many beautiful and popular destinations in South Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and Oceania. Apart from Thailand, Malaysia, and the Maldives, travellers can now also explore unique places like Madagascar, Fiji, and Zimbabwe.

    Easy Access to Popular Destinations

Some well-known tourist spots such as Indonesia, Mauritius, Kenya, the Maldives, and Thailand are open to Indians without a visa or with visa-on-arrival. In Southeast Asia, Thailand and Indonesia are favourites for their vibrant culture and scenic beaches. In Africa, Kenya and Zimbabwe are famous for their wildlife safaris and natural beauty. Fiji and Palau in Oceania are loved for their clean beaches and rich marine life.

    Hassle-Free Travel to Neighbouring Countries

India’s neighbouring countries are also easy to visit. Nepal has an open border with India, so no visa or special permit is required. Bhutan only requires a simple entry permit. Sri Lanka offers Indians a visa-on-arrival. These simple processes make travelling to nearby destinations stress-free.

Things to Keep in Mind Before Travelling

Indian citizens should remember a few important points. Some countries require an e-travel authorisation (ETA), while others provide a visa on arrival. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of return. It’s also important to know the maximum stay period without a visa, as overstaying may cause problems. With the right preparation, you can enjoy a smooth and exciting international trip.
