    Sumathi valavu movie review

    Rating: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐| 3/5

“Sumathi Valavu scares you in some moments and entertains you in others. It’s a thrilling ride for those who like different types of horror movies.”

Sumathi Valavu is a Malayalam horror-comedy-drama directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar. The story takes place around a dangerous road curve in Kerala called “Sumathi Valavu.” After a pregnant woman named Sumathi dies there in a tragic accident, strange and spooky events begin to happen. Many people who come to this place face black magic, ghostly experiences, and secrets that reveal the dark past of Sumathi and the road.

    Story and Theme

The film is set in a small Kerala village during the 1990s. It balances local folk tales with modern horror style. It is not just about scary moments; it also has humour and human emotions, making it both frightening and entertaining. The mysterious atmosphere, traditional myths, and supernatural elements create an interesting and engaging story.

    Acting and Technical Side

Arjun Ashokan plays an important role, connecting the audience to the mysteries of Sumathi Valavu. Other talented Malayalam actors like Saiju Kurup, Shivada Nair, Malavika Manoj, Gokul Suresh, and Balu Varghese do a great job in their roles.

The cinematography by Dinesh Purushothaman captures the natural beauty of Kerala while keeping a spooky tone. Music by Ranjin Raj and editing by Shafique Mohammed Ali help build tension and emotions throughout the movie.

    Direction and Impact

Director Vishnu Sasi Shankar mixes horror, comedy, and suspense. At times, the pace becomes slow when secrets are being revealed, but the use of local folklore and a fun style makes the film very watchable. Along with fear, there are emotional moments, which make this film different from typical horror movies.

    Conclusion

Sumathi Valavu is a good choice for viewers who enjoy Malayalam films with a mix of horror, light comedy, and folk-inspired stories. It balances mystery and entertainment, giving both thrills and fun. With strong performances, beautiful locations, and a unique concept, this film is worth watching.
