    The Naked Gun Movie Review

    Review Rating: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐| 4/5

“The movie is as silly as you expect—and you will laugh in almost every minute!”

The new The Naked Gun (2025) is the fourth film in the action-comedy series. This time it is directed by Akiva Schaffer. Liam Neeson plays Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the legendary Frank Drebin from the original movies (played by Leslie Nielsen). The film also stars Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, and Danny Huston.

    Story and Style

The movie continues the style of the old series—silly police missions, crazy plots, and dumb but funny criminals. Drebin Jr. has to protect his father’s legacy, save the Police Squad from closing, and stop a strange tech villain (Danny Huston).

The humour style is the same as before: slapstick comedy, funny background jokes, and serious lines said in a silly way. However, the camera work and some modern jokes make it feel fresh for today’s audience.

    Acting

Liam Neeson is very good as Drebin Jr. His serious face in funny and clumsy situations makes people laugh. Pamela Anderson is a surprise as “Beth Davenport,” with excellent comic timing. Paul Walter Hauser as Ed Hocken Jr. and CCH Pounder as the Police Chief also do a good job.

    Direction and Technical Side

Akiva Schaffer mixes the classic “Naked Gun” style with new creativity. Camera moves, background music, and fight scenes all feel like a modern version of a spoof movie. The editing is fast and smooth, and the short 85-minute length keeps it fun without feeling boring.

    Comedy and Impact

Sometimes the humour is silly or low-level, but that is exactly what fans expect from this series. Some jokes feel old-fashioned, while others use visual comedy more than words. Liam Neeson’s serious style in crazy events creates a very funny mix.

    Conclusion

The Naked Gun (2025) is a mix of nostalgia for old fans and pure fun for new viewers. It never takes itself seriously and just wants to make you laugh. With nonstop slapstick, sharp direction, and Liam Neeson’s unexpected comedy, this is one of the funniest parody movies of the year. If you want to laugh for almost two hours without thinking, this is a great choice.
