Logout Review: A Gripping Cyber Thriller for the Digital Age

Category-

Logout is a sharp and chilling look at what happens when the virtual world we build begins to control us. Directed by Amit Golani and written by Biswapati Sarkar, this Indian cyber thriller stars Babil Khan in a role that perfectly captures the pressures of online fame. After impressing audiences in The Railway Men, Babil delivers another intense performance as Pratyush Dua, a rising digital influencer with millions of followers—but a very fragile reality.

At first, Pratyush’s world seems perfect: he’s popular, admired, and living every influencer’s dream. But things quickly take a dark turn when his phone is stolen, and a mysterious fan begins using his online identity to wreak havoc. What follows is a psychological rollercoaster as Pratyush desperately tries to regain control of his digital life, while the lines between real and fake begin to blur.

Babil Khan stands out in this role, bringing both charm and vulnerability to a character who slowly breaks under pressure. Rasika Dugal adds emotional depth as his sister, a grounded presence in his increasingly chaotic world. Gandharv Dewan and Nimisha Nair also deliver strong performances, especially as Pratyush’s world starts crumbling from all directions.

The writing is tight, and the pace of the story keeps you hooked throughout. The film smartly shows how easily our online lives can become our reality—and how dangerous that can be. There are no ghosts or monsters here; the real fear comes from obsession, loneliness, and the terrifying power of social media.

Visually, Logout uses clever camera work and sleek editing to show the contrast between Pratyush’s glossy digital life and his harsh real one. The sound design is subtle but effective, especially in scenes where silence speaks louder than words.

Logout is more than just a cyber thriller. It’s a warning about the dark side of internet fame and the pressure to stay perfect online. It’s about how quickly admiration can turn into obsession—and how we can lose ourselves in the process.

Rating: 4/5

Smart, tense, and timely, Logout is a must-watch for anyone living in today’s hyper-connected world. It’ll make you think twice before sharing your next post.
