To enhance connectivity between Delhi and neighbouring states, the Delhi Metro’s Red Line will be extended to Kundli in Haryana.

The Union Cabinet has approved the 26.463-km Rithala-Kundli corridor as part of the Phase-IV expansion of Delhi Metro. This new corridor will be the first to directly link Haryana and Uttar Pradesh through Delhi, further expanding Delhi Metro’s reach. Upon completion, Delhi Metro will rank among the top three largest metro networks in the world.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the project is expected to be completed within four years, at an estimated cost of Rs 6,230 crore.

The extension will feature 21 stations and will connect the existing Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda)-Rithala (Red Line) corridor, improving transportation in the northwestern areas of Delhi, including Narela, Bawana, and parts of Rohini.

This corridor will be the fourth extension of Delhi Metro into Haryana, following the expansions to Gurugram, Ballabhgarh, and Bahadurgarh.
