    India’s Shortest Expressway has the Most Toll Plazas, Connecting Key Cities, Airports, and Metro Stations

    India's Shortest Expressway has the Most Toll Plazas, Connecting Key Cities, Airports, and Metro Stations

    The Dwarka Expressway, a 29-kilometer stretch connecting Delhi and Gurugram, is a unique infrastructure project in India. It is the first expressway in the country to feature both elevated and underground sections, making it a significant addition to the region’s transport network.

    The expressway boasts a 23-kilometer elevated section and a 4-kilometer underground stretch, ensuring seamless connectivity between the two cities. It also has the largest toll plaza in India, with 34 booths.

    The toll rates for cars, jeeps, and vans are ₹105 for one-way and ₹155 for round trip. Buses and trucks pay ₹355 and ₹535 respectively.

    The Dwarka Expressway aims to reduce traffic congestion on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway (NH-48) and improve connectivity between Delhi and Gurugram. It connects key areas like Dwarka, IGI Airport, Diplomatic Enclave II, and the upcoming Dwarka Sector 21 Metro Station.

    After its opening, the estimated travel time between Delhi and IGI Airport is expected to be 30 minutes, providing a faster commute between Haryana and Delhi.
