Kalki 2898 AD is an upcoming Indian epic science fiction film that has been both written and directed by Nag Ashwin. The project is being produced by C. Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies and boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani.
Originally announced under the working title Project K in February 2020, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Vyjayanthi Movies, the production faced a year-long delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming finally commenced in July 2021 on a futuristic set located at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Notably, the film was shot simultaneously in both Telugu and Hindi languages.
With a staggering budget of ₹600 crore (US$75 million), Kalki 2898 AD ranks as the most expensive Indian film ever made. The movie’s musical score is being crafted by Santhosh Narayanan, with Djordje Stojiljkovic handling cinematography and Nitin Zihani Choudhary overseeing production design. As of now, Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2024. A huge part of Kalki 2898 AD budget is allocated to the star cast fees.

Pan Indian superstar Prabhas is playing the main lead in Kalki 2898 AD for an estimated sum of Rs 100 Crore. Despite a string of box office failures in the recent past, Prabhas has managed to earn a huge sum of fees for his role.
Amitabh Bachchan is playing a major role in Kalki 2898 AD, and for that, he is getting a huge sum of Rs 10 Crore as his salary.
South Indian veteran Kamal Haasan has secured a much better deal than Amitabh Bachchan, and he is paid around Rs 15 Crore for his role.
Deepika Padukone is playing the main female lead in Kalki 2898 AD, and for that, she is charging a huge salary of Rs 20 Crore.
