Gadar 2 continues to dominate the box office, showing remarkable performance on its third day as well. The movie directed by Anil Sharma had an impressive Sunday with earnings around Rs 52 cr, marking its highest single-day collection so far. Following its strong opening of Rs 40 cr and Saturday’s earnings of Rs 43 cr, Gadar 2’s weekend collection now reaches Rs 135 cr.
Industry experts anticipate the film to maintain steady collections on Monday and accelerate on Tuesday, the Independence Day holiday, ensuring that it easily surpasses the Rs 200 cr milestone.
To provide context, Shah Rukh Khan’s highly successful film “Pathaan,” which premiered on January 25th, garnered approximately Rs 161 cr (Hindi) in its first three days. Notably, its second day achieved a record-breaking single-day collection of Rs 68 cr nett due to Republic Day. During its extended five-day weekend, “Pathaan” earned Rs 271 cr.

Impressively, Gadar 2 achieved remarkable success despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2,” resulting in limited screenings, particularly in multiplexes. Gadar 2 has become the pinnacle of Sunny Deol’s 40-year career, outshining his previous hits. The veteran actor, who began his journey with “Betaab” in 1983, now sees Gadar 2 as his highest-grossing blockbuster, surpassing even his earlier hit “Gadar” from 2001.
The actor expressed joy over the unexpected success of Gadar 2 at the box office. They were pleasantly surprised that even after two generations, the audience’s excitement remains strong.
The film’s popularity led exhibitors to schedule additional screenings, including late nights and early mornings. Due to sharing screens with another movie, capacity became a challenge, and eager moviegoers are unwilling to wait, pushing for more showtimes and potential record-breaking success.
Anil Sharma directed Gadar 2, featuring Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. The film employs CGI to bring the late Amrish Puri’s character back to life.
