Silence 2 Review: Manoj Bajpayee is the Highlight of This Forgettable Thriller

Silence 2 Review: Manoj Bajpayee is the only good thing about this thriller.

Director Aban Bharucha Deohans brings us the follow-up to the intriguing crime thriller Silence. Despite its potential, Silence 2 falls short in execution and fails to leave a lasting impression.

The film revolves around ACP Avinash Verma (Manoj Bajpayee), a seasoned cop with a poetic soul. He quotes Ghalib, speaks philosophically during investigations, and has a unique ability to visualize murder scenes. When ten people are killed in a bar shootout, ACP Verma follows his instincts and uncovers a larger conspiracy involving human trafficking.

Bajpayee’s portrayal of ACP Verma is the film’s standout. His charisma, wit, and empathy for victims keep the character interesting. His chemistry with co-star Prachi Desai (who plays Aarti) adds depth to the story.

The human trafficking angle complicates the plot. As the investigation progresses, we come across an elusive artist named Arjun Chauhan, who holds the key to solving the mystery. Unfortunately, the film has an uneven pace. While it does pick up sporadically, the melodramatic treatment reduces its impact. The audience is left wanting for consistency.

The revelation of the criminal’s motivation falls flat. The final sequence makes viewers question the time they spent. Silence 2 had the potential to be a gripping crime thriller, but it falls short in execution. Director Aban Bharucha Deohans could have tightened the writing, especially in a genre where well-crafted crime thrillers are plentiful. Manoj Bajpayee’s ACP Verma is compelling, but lacks the quirkiness of his Raj and DK show personas. The film, like its title, is silent on its full potential.
