    UK Visa

If you dream of strolling along the beautiful streets of Britain, studying in the lanes of Oxford, or passing under the iconic London Bridge, hold on. Before turning that dream into reality, you need to be well-prepared. Getting a UK visa might seem simple, but in reality, it involves rigorous documentation and thorough verification.

One of the first things that is checked is your financial status – particularly how much balance you have in your bank account. Along with that, the visa application includes several questions that assess everything from your purpose of travel to your personal background. Here’s a detailed guide to what you need to know.

During the UK visa process, the most important aspect assessed is whether the applicant has sufficient funds to support themselves while in the country. Bank balance is a crucial factor in the approval process. If you’re applying for a Standard Visitor Visa (tourist visa), there is no fixed amount required, but you must prove that you can bear the costs of flights, accommodation, meals, and your return journey. For a trip lasting 7 to 10 days, showing a balance of ₹2 to ₹2.5 lakhs is generally considered safe.

    Stricter Rules for Students

If you’re applying for a Student Visa (Tier 4 / Student Route), the rules are even stricter. Students studying in London must show funds covering 9 months of living costs at £1,334 per month – a total of £12,006, which is approximately ₹12 lakhs. For students studying outside London, the requirement is £1,023 per month – totaling £9,207 or around ₹9 lakhs. This amount must remain in the account continuously for at least 28 days, clearly visible in the bank statement.

    Work Visa Requirements

If you’re applying for a Skilled Worker Visa, the UK government requires you to show a minimum bank balance of £1,270 (about ₹1.3 lakhs). This amount ensures that you can manage your expenses in the UK for the initial weeks without any hardship. The funds must stay in your account continuously for at least 28 days.

Questions Asked in the Visa Application

The visa application form includes several personal and professional questions, such as:

    • Your full name
    • Date of birth
    • Passport number
    • Marital status
    • Purpose of travel
    • Place of stay in the UK
    • Travel dates
    • Your monthly income
    • Employment details
    • Who will bear the expenses
    • Any previous visa rejections
    • Criminal record, if any

Answering these questions accurately and truthfully is crucial for visa approval.
