Clipped Plot

Clipped (2024 – 1 season) dives into the fallout from a notorious NBA owner’s racist remarks that were captured on tape and heard worldwide. Based on the popular ESPN 30 for 30 podcast “The Sterling Affairs,” the limited series explores the turmoil within a dysfunctional basketball organization and an even more dysfunctional marriage. The story follows the impact of the scandal on an ensemble of characters striving to succeed amid the backdrop of the league’s most ill-fated team. In 2013, famed coach Doc Rivers takes on the challenge of leading the LA Clippers, armed with a promising roster and aiming for the franchise’s first championship. Despite the well-known issues with the team’s owner, Donald Sterling, Doc is determined to minimize Sterling’s influence. Meanwhile, a courtside power struggle intensifies between Sterling’s ambitious personal assistant, V. Stiviano, and his wife and business partner of 60 years, Shelly.
